Ships grounded after allision
The cargo m/v 'Clavigo' dragged anchor and drifted to shore at Tuzla in the night of Feb 27, 2020 in adverse weather. The ship allided with the 'Dede' which was anchored in the vicinity, got entangled, and both ships ended up on the breakwater. The 'Dede' suffered serious damages and capsized, resting on the bottom in shallow water with a submerged starboard side. The 'Clavigo' came to rest on the breakwater with a list to starboard and could be reached with a gangway to shore. Both crews, on the whole 13, were rescued safely. Vessel detained in Poti
The Georgian Coastguard detained two Turkish vessels in the port of Poti with on the whole twelve crew members for unauthorized entry to the breakaway Abkhazia. The "Isik-3" with five Turkish citizens on board and the "Ayse Akansu" with seven Turkish crew members were detained on April 26 and charged with violation of Georgia’s law on occupied territories, which bans foreign citizens to enter into breakaway Abkhazia without Tbilisi’s official approval. The "Isik-3" entered into the Abkhaz section of the Georgian territorial waters on February 24 and on March 2, and the "Ayse Akansu" was in Abkhazia on January 13 and on January 25; moreover both vessels visited Bichvinta (Pitsunda). On April 27, 2012, the court in Poti granted GEL 3,000 bail to each of the crew members, pending investigation.
