US authorities stopped tanker with Russian oil
US authorities stopped the 'Daytona', loaded with Russian oil products, on its way to Louisiana. The ship was coming from Ust-Luga with an ETA at New Orleans as of June 26. But the authorities prevented the tanker from discharging its cargo, which had been labeled as coming from Russia. The ship was checked out by US Customs and Border Protection. The tanker is owned by Greece's TMS Tankers and was chartered by Swiss commodities trader Vitol, which stated to be operating it in full compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including sanctions. The ship berthed in New Orelans on June 28 at 8.45 a.m.
