Man airlifted after losing consciousness
A man was airlifted to Dorset County Hospital from the "Dawn Mist" after losing consciousness off West Bay. The man, in his 60s from Ringwood, was on a recreational fishing trip on the "Dawn Mist" when he was taken ill mid morning on Mar 25, 2013. The Portland Coastguard received a call from the skipper around 10.45 a.m. The passenger was slipping in and out of consciousness and he was thankful the coastguard helicopter was so close. The man was wearing a survival suit and all the appropriate clothing but had not eaten breakfast. The man was fishing with a group of nine on the "Dawn Mist" fishing near the beach where it was more sheltered.
