Medevac off Brest

Fri May 16 16:50:46 CEST 2014 Timsen

On May 16, 2014 at 4:25 a.m. the CROSS Corsen was alerted by the "Darya Gayatri" that one of the crew members had fallen ill. The CROSS ordered the ship to proceed to Brest for an evacuation by boat. At 08:00 a.m., a conference call was made between the center of maritime medical consultation in Toulouse, the CROSS and the ship. The patient could no longer be evacuate by boat because he was eunable to take the ladder, so an evacuation by helicopter was decided. The CROSS Corsen deployed a Cayman helicopter of the Navy Base in Lanvéoc-Poulmic which hoisted the Patient at 09:15 a.m. At 9:45 a.m., the sailor was delivered in the hsopital Cavale Blanche in Brest.
