Arrested ship sank on Kapuas River

The 'Surya Pekik' sank in the ship channel of the Kapuas River, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, on Feb 9, 2020, at 10 p.m. The ship was to be auctioned through the Office of State Assets and Auction Services (KPKLN) Pontianak and belonging to the Jayapura District Attorney (Kejati) that had detained it on request of the Papua Regional Development Bank (BPD) for a corruption case. It had been anchored since years and was unloaded. The accomodationblock and the cranes still protruded above the water. The patrol boat 'Batu Layang' and the West Kalimantan Marine Police Post (Marnit TPI) were deployed to the scene for investigations. Hatte am 03.02.10 in der Schleuse in Brunsbüttel Maschinenausfall - Grund dafür: wegen dem Eises wurden die Ventiele des Kühlwassersystems verstopft - mußte mit 2 Schleppern von der Schleuse zu den Bahnhofsdalben geschleppt werden!
