Medevac off South Padre Island

The US Coast Guard medevaced a crewmember from the "Bow Gallant" 35 miles northeast of South Padre Island, Texas, in the afternoon of May 16, 2019. Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders received a call from the captain of the vesselstating that a crew member was in need of medical assistance and required a medevac. Watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon who recommended the medevac. A Sector/ Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew was launched and medevaced the man to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at Valley International Airport.

'Bow Gallant' to enter Lauritzen Kosan’s ethylene gas carrier pool

Lauritzen Kosan has reached an agreement with Norwegian Odfjell Gas that its two 9,000 cbm 2008 built ethylene carriers, Bow Guardian and Bow Gallant (sister vessels to Stella Kosan, Stina Kosan and Sophia Kosan) in the near future will enter Lauritzen Kosan’s ethylene gas carrier pool. “I am very pleased with the agreement with Odfjell Gas as it will strengthen our position in the ethylene gas carrier segment”, says Thomas Wøidemann, President, Lauritzen Kosan.
