Barge suffered water ingress
The "Concordia", 426 ts (EU-No.: 02000809), suffered water ingress inside a lock on the lower Rhine near Heveadorp in the evening of Feb 20, 2018. The 58-year-old skipper was just about to rest when he remarked the water in the hallway. He maneuvered the vessel to the right side of the lock, thus making it accessible to the fire brigade which was alerted at 9.40 p.m. The leak was temporarily sealed by the fire brigade after the water had been pumped out of the foreship. The ship which was loaded with 300 tons of sand and 125 tons of gravel, destined to Woerden. The skipper suspected that another ship had touched his ship when leaving the lock and caused a crack in the hull.
