Engine trouble on the North Sea

The "Colorado Star", en route from Rotterdam to La Rochelle, with a crew of 19 on board, suffered problems with the engine in position at 50 09 50.0 N, 2 13 32.0 W, pn Sep 4, 2019, at 6.35 p.m. The repairs were completed by 6.45 p.m., and the vessel resumed its voyage. The vessel was carrying 4796 tons of kerosene and 1733 tons of jet fuel and dropped anchor off La Rochelle in the morning of Sep 7.

Flashfire in exhaust pipe

On Dec 18, 2012, at 10.15 p.m. residents at Ijmuiden were startled by the sound of explosions and flashes accompanied by an alarm aboard the "Colorado Star" which was passing the locks coming from Amsterdam. It turned out that the ship had an ignition in one of the exhausts accompanied by a flash fire which lasted for some minutes. Because the ship remained technically sound it could resume its journey to Immingham around midnight and headed for Immingham.
