PKK-activists tried to hijack excursion boat
In the afternoon of Apr 15, 2012, political activists tried to hijack the "Colonia 6" on the Rhine. After the ship sailed from the Hohenzollern Bridge at 2.30 p.m., about 10 men and women entered the wheelhouse in order to take control of the ship at the Mühlheim Bridge. But the crew was able to defend the kidnappers which were thought to have been sympathizers of the banned Kurdish Workers' Party, PKK, and the captain regained the control of the helm, though the ship drifted for some time after he had been pushed aside. Other passengers alerted the police. A launch of the water police with more than a dozen officers came to support the crew, and the ship was escorted the port of Deutz, where the suspects were arrested. They were then taken to police headquarters for questioning. German report with photo: http://www.rundschau-online.de/html/artikel/1334494355814.shtml
