Bio-Sea Installation A Success Aboard CMA CGM Flagship
BIO-UV Group has successfully installed and commissioned its BIO-SEA ballast water treatment system to CMA CGM’s new flagship, the 400m long, 20,600TEU CMA CGM Antoine De Saint Exupéry. The vessel, one of the largest containerships to be built by Hanjin Heavy Industries’ yard in the Philippines, and the largest to fly the French flag, was christened in Le Havre earlier this month by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire, and the Minister in charge of Transport, Elisabeth Borne.
CMA CGM Takes Delivery of France’s Biggest Ship, the 20,600 TEU ‘Antoine De Saint Exupery
French shipping group CMA CGM inaugurated its new flagship vessel CMA CGM Antoine De Saint Exupery this week in Le Havre, France. At 400-meters long by 59-meter wide, the vessel has the capacity to carry 20,600 twenty-foot containers, making it the largest to sail under the French flag. CMA CGM took delivery of the CMA CGM Antoine De Saint Exupery in January from Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction in Subic, Phillipinnes. She is the first three similar ships being built for the group. The Group’s former flagship was the CMA CGM Bougainville, one of ultra large container vessels (UCLVs) with a capacity of around 18,000 TEU.

French shipping giant CMA CGM has taken delivery of its new flagship, the 20,600 TEU capacity CMA CGM Antoine De Saint Exupery. The vessel is now biggest containership flying the French flag. CMA CGM Antoine De Saint Exupery will enter into service on 6 February 2018 on the FAL 1 service (French Asia Line 1).
