HHIC deliver container ship Wide Delta
Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction (HHIC)-Philippines has delivered the 5,380teu baby post-Panamax boxship Wide Delta to her owners on the 11th September. The Wide Delta is the fourth of 10 sister vessels ordered by Oaktree subsidiary OCM Luxembourg Park, to be managed by Rickmers Shipmanagement, for charter to major liner container operators. The ten vessels are partly named after the Phoenetic alphabet tables, Wide Alpha and Wide Bravo are in service and operating for NYK charter. The other eight ships are named Wide Charlie through to Wide Juliet with all eight being chartered to Maersk Line. Wide Delta is the fourth vessel to enter service and joins Wide Charlie in Maersk service as Maersk Indus, the other six vessels will join them by the end of 1Q15. Main particulars of this class are Loa 255m, Breadth 37.3m, draft of 13.9m with a MAN B&W 6G80ME-C9 MAIN ENGINE giving the class a service speed of 21.5 knots.
