Containership suffered cyliner leak
The "CMA CGM Kerguelen", en route from Southampton to Le Havre, suffered a leak in one of the cylinders 16 miles southeast of St. Catherine's Point, on May 1, 2019. The defect was rectified and the vessel resumed its voyage. It berthed at the Terminal de France in Le Havre on May 2 at 1.15 p.m.
CMA CGM KERGUELEN to be christened in Le Havre on May 12
The CMA CGM Group is pleased to announce that the CMA CGM KERGUELEN, the Group’s largest vessel, crossed the Suez Canal for the first time on May 2nd, 2015. On this occasion, the Suez Canal Authority Chairman, the Admiral Mohab Mameesh, boarded the CMA CGM KERGUELEN and completed a section of Ehe Canal crossing. The CMA CGM KERGUELEN will cross the canal twice during her 77 days rotation between Asia, the Mediterranean and North Europe, and back. Delivered on March 31 in Korea, the CMA CGM KERGUELEN is sailing towards Tangier (Morocco) where she will call on May 7, and, then towards Europe. She will be christened in Le Havre on May 12.
CMA CGM KERGUELEN welcomed with a unique arrangement at the Port Klang Terminal
The CMA CGM Group announced, that during the CMA CGM KERGUELEN first call at the Port Klang Port Terminal in Malaysia, the terminal set up a unique arrangement for the vessel: no less than 12 cranes were simultaneously used to match the vessel's exceptional length (398 meters) and capacity (17,722 TEU), setting a new record for one of the Group’s vessels, the company said in its press release.
