Engine failure in Marmara Sea
The 'Clipper Venus', while en route from Jorf Lasfar to Yuzhny, suffered an engine failure and went adrift in the Marmara Sea in position 40 48 24 N, 28 33 00 E on April 21, 2021. The crew could not conduct the repairs, and a Coastal Safety tug and technical teams attended the ship which was secured and towed to Istanbul anchorage where it moored in the morning. A class surveyor attended on board to investigate the cause of the engine failure. Repair works have commenced, and as of April 23, the ship remained anchored in pos. 40° 56.32' N 028° 50.57' E.
