Medevac off Egmont Key
The Coast Guard medevaced two people on March 30, 2017, a 52-year-old man off the "Clipper Talent" 11 miles west of Egmont Key and a 47-year-old woman off a commercial fishing boat 35 miles west of Stump Pass. Watch standers at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg were notified at 10:45 a.m. of a 52-year-old man suffering abdominal pain aboard the ship. A MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater launched and medevaced the man at 12:45 p.m. and transported him to Tampa General Medical Hospital. At 5:09 p.m., watch standers at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg were notified of a 47-year-old woman also suffering abdominal pain aboard the commercial fishing boat "Miss Irene". A separate Jayhawk helicopter crew from Air Station Clearwater launched at 6:07 p.m. The air crew arrived on scene at 7:07 p.m., hoisted and medevaced the woman to Tampa General Hospital.
