CLIPPER LIS 9515723

Tue Sep 07 14:53:50 CEST 2010 odinfm

On September 5 2010 in the afternoon bulk carrier Clipper Lis with 18000 tonns of ore was as far as I understand Spanish, unmooring in Barranquilla, Columbia. Vessel broke free and was dragged by strong current down Magdalena river, contacting berthed cement bulk carrier Caribe Star and then floating jetty, which broke free from moorings and stranded some 500 meters below. Both vessels got light damages, Clipper Lis was to be surveyed on September 7, investigation under way. Caribe Star IMO 7124104, dwt 6947, built 1971, flag Panama, owner Transmaritima del Caribe S.A.
