Bulk carrier suffered power outage
On Sep 5, 2024, the 'Christiana P' was immobilized in Ramallo due to a power outage. The bulk carrier was carrying 40000 tons of sorghum and bound from the ACA Terminal in San Lorenzo to the Buenos Aires port of Quequén to load another 25000 tons barley, bound for China, and was sailing towards Puerto Quequén. Although it was initially thought to be grounded, the ship actually suffered a blackout. The ship had to emergency anchor practically in front of the Puerto Martins Shipyard.
Double trouble in Quebec
The "India" suffered a problem with its main engine while leaving the anchorage of Les Escoumins, Quebec, on Sep 15, 2019. The vessel returned to the anchorage for repairs. On Sep 17 it allided with the bulk carrier "Great Profit" while alongside in Port Alfred, Quebec. The incident happened due to loosened mooring lines of vessel. The "India" sailed from Port Alfred on Sep 20.
Ship timewise adrift off Gallan Head
The "India" enroute from Port Elizabeth to Murmansk with a cargo 50,437 tons of manganese ore, was reported not under command 45 nautical miles from Gallan Head, in lat 58 45N, long 08 06W on March 20, requiring replacement of a piston in the main engine. The expected duration of repair work was eight hours, and at 5 p.m. the ship was underway again with an ETA at Murmansk as of March 23, 1 p.m.
