Collision on the Rhine
The tank barge "Neuburgersee" was in collision with the pusher tug "Chempark" (EU-No.: 04021460) on July 25, 2014, at 3.30 p.m. on the Rhine at river km 721 in Dormagen. Both ships suffered significant damages. Rescue services were on scene with 15 vehicles. The water police attended with boats both from Düsseldorf and Colonia. The "Neuburgersee" grounded at Sütürzelberg, the "Chempark" anchored off the park of Benrath Castle. Ship traffic was advised to pass the accident site with caution. No injuries, no spill reported.
