17 passengers taken off after water ingress
In the morning of May 21, 2014, the "Chemnitz" suffered severe water Ingress 12,5 miles NE of Rostock. All 17 passengers were taken off by a Police boat and transferred to shore aboard the patrol boat "Warnow". The lifeboat "Arkona" from Warnemünde had the on Scene command. The master and engineer of the vessel remained aboard, while the "Chemnitz" was dewatered with additional pumps. After the water ingress was under control, the ship was taken alongside the lifeboat and towed to Rostock. Also the customs boat "Bredstedt" and the anti Pollution vessel "Arkona" attended.
