Navy ship rescued Iranian fishermen
The USNS 'Charles Drew (T-AKE 10)' rescued two Iranian men on Nov. 27, 2021, from a fishing vessel after it was adrift for eight days in the Gulf of Oman. The ship responded after the Combined Maritime Forces, an international maritime coalition headquartered in Bahrain, received a distress call from the stranded mariners at 10 a.m., and arrived on scene six hours later. It provided food, water and medical care. The 'Charles Drew' safely transported the mariners to an Omani Coast Guard vessel sailing near Muscat. The fishermen were in good health and spirits at the time of the transfer. Report with photos: https://www.navytimes.com/news/your-navy/2021/11/29/us-navy-ship-rescues-iranian-mariners-lost-at-sea/
