Container ship sank after collsion
The "Hua Yuan 9999" was in collision with the cargo m/v "Puhui 1" on the Yangtze river near the Taicang buoy 7 in the morning of Nov 26, 2018. The accident took place near the Shanghai Channel fairway. The container ship sank, the crew was rescued uninjured. All 115 containers fell into the water. A recovery operation was launched. All traffic was suspended and the Taicang port blocked, because of drifting containers. Some of them were loaded with dangerous goods. 10 tugs and six engineering vessels have been deployed to the scene for salvage operations, which were still ongoing.
