Blackout in Suez Canal

Fri Feb 15 19:04:27 CET 2019 Timsen

The "Pomer" suffered am engine blackout, while transiting the Suez Canal in a northbound convoy on Feb 15, 2019, at 7.30 a.m. below the Great Bitter Lake. The tanker which was enroute from Dumai to Taman and had sailed from Suez at 7 a.m., blocked ship traffic in both directions, so that several vessels following the vessel had to wait until tugs moved the "Pomer" to the Great Bitter Lake.

Vessel detained due to unpaid wages

Mon Oct 15 13:02:35 CEST 2018 Timsen

The "Pomer" ship was detained by the authorities in Australia's Gladstone port due to a delay in the payment of salaries to the vessel's crew. The ship was detained by the Australian authorities although the salaries were paid before its arrival in the port on Oct 12, 2018. The ship will be released once the requested information on the wages payment has been provided by the respective banks. The detention of the vessel did not affect the smooth running of planned commercial and other activities in the Gladstone port.
