Grounding on Paraná
The 'Cassiopeia Ocean' ran aground on Aug 27, 2019, at 1 a.m. in the Rosario area on the Paraná River in pos. 33° 2.69' S 060° 34.33' W just after leaving the port of Rosario, bound for Liverpool, with 46437 tonnes of grain on board. The bulkcarrier got stuck at km mark 407.3 on the right margin, and was partially obstructing stream navigation up and down. Re-floating manoeuvres by its own means were without success. On Aug 28, the tugs 'Ranquel' (IMO: 9688702) and "Brutus" (MMSI: 701006670), were on site to assist. On Aug 30 the bulkcarrier remained stationary. On Aug 31 the tug "Coopor Estibador II" (IMO: 9769374) also joined the incident scene. The freighter moored on La Plata anchorage in pos. 34° 43.90' S 057° 48.66' W on Sep 2 at 3 a.m. On Sep 9 it was underway from Arroyo Seco to Liverpool with an ETA as of Sep 30.
