Tue Feb 27 11:31:49 CET 2024 Timsen

The U.S. Coast Guard launched a searchfor a man who fell from the 'Carnival Magic' off the coast of Florida on Feb 26, 2024. The 35-year-old passenger got lost about 185 miles east of Jacksonville. Aircraft and ships were being used in the search. The man’s companion reported him missing in the late afternoon. Security footage on the ship showed that the man leaned over the railing of his stateroom balcony and dropped into the water at around 4 a.m. The Coast Guard released the ship from search efforts and told the captain to head back to port in Norfolk, Virginia.

Cruise ship allided with pier

Wed Feb 07 21:27:37 CET 2024 Timsen

The 'Carnival Magic' allided with a pier in Ochos Rios, Jamaica, after strong winds and swells caused the pier fender to collapse under pressure, on Jan 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. forcing it to move away and temporarily leave guests on shore. There were no injuries, and all the ship's services remained operational. The ship later docked at another nearby pier and guests who went ashore rejoined the ship. The 'Carnival Magic' was on a six-day cruise that departed from Miami on Jan 4. The ship skipped a planned stop in Grand Cayman due to the weather conditions in the region and stayed in Ocho Rios, where it was due to leave in the evening.
