Medevac off Queensland
A passenger of the 'Carnival Luminosa', a man in his 70s, had to be urgently airlifted by a helicopter and was rushed to the Bundaberg Hospital. He had suffered health problems which required medical care on a higher level, while the cruise ship was sailing off the Queensland coast on April 2, 2025, at around 1 p.m. The vessel was on the final day of the cruise into the Port of Brisbane.
Medevac off Palma de Mallorca
On May 26 the medical evacuation of a passenger was carried out from the 'Costa Luminosa', en route from Malaga to Savona. The cruise ship was 50' west of Palma de Mallorca. The SAR helicopter Helimer 206was mobilized by the Coordination Center (CCS) of Salvamento Marítimo in Palma. The patient was hoisted and transferred to the Son Espases hospital.
Four people taken off cruise ship
On May 17, 2022, the 'Costa Luminosa', en route from Cadiz to Las Palmas, requested the medical evacuation of a one-year-old child. The CCS Cadiz of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the SAR vessel 'Salvamar Suhail'. The whole family of four, among them two adults and two children, were taken off and transported to to Puerto América.
