Medevac off Port Aransas
The US Coast Guard medevaced a 57 year-old-man from the "Captain H.W." approximately 17 miles southeast of Port Aransas, Texas, in the afternoon of Aug 9, 2018. Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders received a request for a medevac from the captain of the fishing vessel after a crewmember was suffering from abdominal pains. The watchstanders notified the duty flight surgeon who recommended the medevac. An Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew arrived on scene, hoisted the crewmember and transported him to the airfield at Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi. Awaiting emergency medical services personnel received the man and transported him to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline.
