Raised stern beached in Aliaga

The stern of the "Cabrera" which had run aground on the northern coast of Andros island on Dec 24, 2016,while en route from Larimna to Tornio and subsequently sank, was beached on the pontoon onto which the "Taklift 4" recently had deposited it, in Aliaga to be broken up on Dec 26, 2017. The salvage companies Megatugs and Smit had removed the stern on Oct 23 from a depth of 35 meters 100 meters from the rocks of the island. The remainder was no threat for the environment and will thus not be salvaged.
