Medevac off Chubut

A 55-year-old crew member of the 'Cabo Tres Puntas' suffered from high blood pressure and severe chest pains on Dec 1, 2020, and needed to be medevaced. After conducting a radio consultation with doctors, and after evaluating the patient's clinical condition and the diagnosis, his urgent evacuation was indicated so that he could be treated at a healthcare center. A PA-42 helicopter with a doctor and medical trained personnel on board, accompanied by a PA - 22 aircraft of the Argentine Naval Prefecture, hoisted the patient in the Argentine Sea, more than 127 kilometers from Chubut city in Trelew. While first assistance was given, the Comodoro Rivadavia Air Station coordinated the arrival of an ambulance at the Trelew airport. After his arrival, the patient was rushed to the regional hospital.
