Technical malfunction caused oil pollution
The "Cable Enterprise" caused an oil pollutiob in the new Southern lock in Brunsbüttel in the morning of April 7, 2019. Due to a technical malfunction of the engine oil products had entered the water. The polluton was remarked at 7 a.m. The spill had a size of 50 x 10 meters inside the lock. Some tar balls were floating in the inner port of Brunsbüttel on an area of 30 square meters. The ship along with its two tugs was ordered to berth at the naval pilings in the inner port of Brunsbüttel for investigations and surveys. The cable layer was detained until repairs were carried out. The ship was released on April 8 and continued its voyage from Southampton to Pikkala, being pulled by the tug "Norne", at 4.40 p.m.
