Sanctioned Russian dredger refused port entry in Klaipeda
The state of Lithuania did not allow the Russian-owned 'Bystraya' into the seaport of Klaipeda. From March 3-5 the dredger drifted off the coast requesting entry to the port of Klaipeda. The Klaipeda Port authority said that the 'Bystraya', which is subject to sanctions, had made several attempts to sail into the port but was refused entry and subsequently left for the port of Kaliningrad, where it arrived on March 5. The port was informed twice in February, that the dredger was coming to Klaipeda for short-term repairs and refuelling, and the next time, for maintenance and operation work. The ship is on the European Maritime Safety Agency?s list of sanctioned ships.
