Medevac in New Mangalore
The Vietnamese chief cook aboard the 'Bohwa Amo' was medevaced after suffering a heart attack while the vessel was docked at New Mangalore Port. The ship, carrying 7,141.8 tonnes of raw cashew nuts for Bolas Agro Private Ltd., had arrived on Aug 13, 2024. On Aug 16, the master reported the cook’s chest pain to the ETA Shipping and Logistics, which arranged for his transfer to Athena Hospital, where he was placed in the ICU. The patient was moved to Kasturba Medical College (KMC) Hospital on Aug 19. The patient was now stable and expected to be discharged on Aug 23, after which he will return to Vietnam.
