Sunken barge lost off Darßer Ort raised
The barge which sank under tow of the "Bösch" on Aug 13 off Darßer Ort was raised on Aug 27 by the Danish sheerleg "Samson" assisted by the tug "Obelix". Divers had secured the cargo in a way that the barge could be turned upright in submerged state and lifted in one piece. The wreck was taken to Rostock where it was lifted ashore on Aug 28 for surveys.
Barge sank in the Baltic Sea under tow of the Bösch
A 35x11-m sized barge loaded with parts of offshore-windparks sank under tow of the "Bösch" in the morning of Aug 13, 2014, four kilometers NW of the tip of Darßer Ort, Vorpommern-Rügen community, in the Baltic Sea. The ships were coming from Stralsund where they had sailed on Aug 12 at 5 p.m., and were underway to Kiel when the barge sprang aleak and started to sink. All attempts to keep it afloat failed, but the cargo could be secured before the barge foundered. The wreck was on a water depth of 11 meters, and it was intended to raise it the forthcoming days. The "Bösch" was anchoring at the sinking site in position N 54° 29.67' E 012° 34.28'
