Disabled ferry towed to shore
On June 27, 2014, the "Bømlo" was disabledby smoke development in the engine room, while enroute from Halsnøy to Kvinnherad. The ferry had to be towed to Rubbestadnesed by a tug. 21 people were on board at that time. The crew had discovered the smoke in the middle of the fjord at Huglehammaren at 10:10 a.m. The Crew tried to proceed with slow speed, but at 10.30 a.m. the engine stopped. Engine failure off Huglo
The engine of the "Bømlo" stalled south of Huglo on Dec 13, 2011, at 7 p.m. when the ferry was about one nautical mile from land. There were no passengers on board, but a crew of four. Via Rogaland Radio the ship was in close contact with the Rescue Coordination Centre, and at 7.30 p.m. the ship was taken in tow.

The "Bømlo" got stuck at the quay in Bruarvik on Aug 3 at 6.32 p.m. causing an interruption of the ferry service Bruravik - Brimnes. A breakdown of the power trapped the passengers and cars on board and blocked the ferry terminal. At 9 p.m. a repair team was on scene, and at 10 p.m. the ferry service could be re-opened.
