LPG tanker Enigmagas on strike, Kerch Strait, Black sea

LPG tanker Enigmagas, in ballast, is anchored in Kerch Strait in No 450 area since Oct 18 2011, crew declared a strike and demands wages, delayed for already 4 months, provisions, fresh water and bunker. 11 crew (10 Ukrainians and 1 Russian) didn’t have a leave for 3 months, staying on board without a possibility to go ashore. They demand wages and leave. Shipowner threatens them by e-mails and phone calls, saying things like “nobody is immortal in this world, definitely not you guys”. Manager of the vessel ordered crew to take tanker to Temryuk for loading, promising to pay the wages, at least in part, but crew just don’t trust him, and reject to fulfill their duties until they are paid in full and given guarantees they will be changed with a new crew on arrival to port. Crew of another vessel of the companies in question (owner and manager), general cargo vessel Mikhail Kuznetsov, wasn’t paid wages for 2 months. Maritime Bulletin http://www.odin.tc
