10 crew members tested positive for COVID 19, one medevac
Aboard the 'Blue Pioneer' which was working in the Sonda de Campeche area, 180 peoplewere quarantined, after confirming that 10 of them had been tested positive for the new corona virus. The vessel provides support services to oil platforms. The 10 infected people were from Tabasco, Jalisco, Puebla, Veracruz and Tamaulipas, The ship was sent to quarantine in a safe anchorage 14 miles from Isla del Carmen, where it does not hamper the passage of ships, The outbreak began with a cook and an inspector of Petróleos Mexicanos, the first one already confirmed as positive and the second one still considered by the health authorities as a suspicious case. Then tests were carried out by three doctors and two nurses who took 22 samples from people with symptoms of respiratory problems, 11 were sent to the State Laboratory of Public Health to the state capital and the rest to the IMSS of Ciudad del Carmen. Of the first 11, ten were positive for covid-19. Only one case was negative. One crew member with an acute respiratory condition with oxygen saturation will be transferred to the IMSS conversion area on the island.
