Small oil spill in Gibraltar
There was an oil spill of about 20 litres from the 'Blue Bosporus' during bunkering operations in British Gibraltar Territorial Waters on July 15, 2022, at 7 a.m. As soon as it was reported to the Gibraltar Port Authority (GPA), the oil spill contingency plan was activated, and the Algeciras Port authorities were also notified for their awareness. The vessel was initially detained by the GPA, while an investigation was conducted. The vessel sailed from Gibraltar on July 16 at 1.30 p.m. UTC.
Two crew members injured in lifeboat crash
Two crew omembers of the 'Blue Bosporus', which was anchored at English Bay, Vancouver, were injured on Dec 1, 2020, at 1.15 p.m., when their lifeboat was accidently released and crashed into the water during a drill. Within ten minutes, the CAnadian Coast Guard, the Vancouver Police Department and the Vancouver Port Authority responded. A boat of the Coast Guard station Kitsilano pulled the lifeboat to shore and recovered the injured who were treated by the Emergency Health Services before being transferred to hospital in Vancouver. Their injures were serious but not life-threatening. As of Dec 3, the bulk carrier remained at anchor off Vancouver in pos. 49° 17.48' N 123° 10.98' W.
