Concordia Damen ships 18 hulls from Shanghai to Rotterdam
On Monday, 17th June, heavy-lift vessel Black Marlin departed Shanghai. On deck with eighteen Concordia Damen inland shipping vessel hulls and a Damen Crane Barge 6324, bound for Rotterdam. Concordia Damen regularly conducts such heavy-lift transportations as a means of providing its customers with cost-efficient vessels. The hulls and crane barge had been constructed at yards in China. They are scheduled to arrive in the Port of Rotterdam mid-August. Upon arrival the hulls will be towed to Concordia Damen and other local yards for outfitting and the Crane Barge to Damen Shipyards Gorinchem.
Capacity to be increased
Dockwise Ltd (on Apr 22, 2012, announced that the "Black Marlin" will be rebuilt to a so-called type 1 vessel, increasing the capacity to 76,000 tons from 56,000 tons. The expansion of the capacity of the ship is also in line with the continuing global demand for the larger ships of Dockwise. The extension of the ship will take about three months and is scheduled for 2014.
