Allision in Tømmervåg
In the night of July 24, 2018, the ferry service Seivika-Tømmervåg was interrupted just before midnight after the "Bjørnsund", coming from Seivika, allided with the ferry quay on its way to the berth in Tømmervåg. The accident was caused by a technical failure of the propulsion system. The ferry hit the quay with a speed of around four knots. Thecylinder that raises and lowers the ramp on the quayside was damaged and needed repairs. A new cylinder was picked up in Molde in the night, and suffered were carried out the following morning. The "Bjørnsund" got some damage to the bow too and headed to Kristiansund where it docked at Aibel for repairs. No people were injured in the allision. The ferry "Tingvoll" was mobilized as a reserve ferry in the morning of July 26. Departures from Seivika at 5 a.m., from Tømmervåg at 05.30 a.m., from Seivika at 6.00 a.m. and from Tømmervåg at 6.30 a.m. had to be cancelled. The first departure was at 06:30 a.m. from Seivika, with a crossing time of approx. one hour. Ferry sidelined due to technical trouble
In the morning of Aug 19, 2014, the "Bjørnsund" suffered technical problems and had to be taken out of the Seivika-Tømmervåg service,leaving only one ferry on the route. The trouble which was predicted to be fixed early in the afternoon, lasted well into the night. At 9.45 p.m. Fjord1 announced that the ferry was back in normal operation.
Oil leak halted ferry
The service of the "Bjørnsund" running between Seivika and Tømmervåg had to be suspended in the afternoon of Oct 31, 2011, due to a technical failure at 2.30 p.m. The ship remained at the quay until the problem was fixed. The ship had suffered an oil leak. The damage was repaired by 6 p.m., and the ship was put into service again.
