Robbers stole tow lines

Thu Jul 19 21:35:57 CEST 2018 Timsen

While the "Bintang Ocean 3" was towing the Singapore flagged barge "Winbuild 2313" (1468 gt, built 2008) 3.8 nautical miles northeast of Tanjung Sengkuang, Pulau Batam, in the eastbound lane of the Singapore Strait, the Singapore Police Coast Guard reported that two sampans had been observed alongside the "Winbuild 2313" on July 7, 2018, at 1.30 a.m. After checking the barge, the master of the tug reported that four coils of tow line were found to be missing from the barge. On arrival at the Changi Barge Holding Anchorage at 8 a.m., the Singapore Police Coast Guard boarded the two vessels and conducted an investigation.
