Container ship breached in grounding

The "BF Fortaleza" with its crew of 12 was under tow to Måløy on Oct 22, 2015, after having run aground enroute from Bergen to Rotterdam around 1 a.m. on rocks at Skatestraumen in Bremanger. The ship suffered a breach amidship and water ingress in the accident. A lifeboat, a tug from Måløy and a Sea King-helicopter from Florø with an additional bilge pump were dispatched to the ship. While it could be refloated later in the day, it suffered significant damage. Stuck in embankment

On Nov 6, 2012, the "BF Fortaleza" temporarily got stuck on the embankment in the port of Emden during mooring operations. The ship after a lengthy lay up period was to be refitted for a new charter. When moving from the pilings at the North/Southquay to the South Quay at 3.20 p.m., the slight accident happened, in which one piling was damaged.
