Collision off Singapore
The bulkcarriers "West Unity" and "Southern Explorer" collided in the Singapore Straits on Sep 12, 2014. Both vessel suffered damages. The fully loaded "Southern Explorer" was breached with ensuing water ingress. The bow was sitting low in the water due to the water ingress. Both vessel were anchored in Singapore Straits off Singapore, the tug "Maju 511" and other support vessels were standing by. The "Southern Explorer" was secured on Singapur East Anchorage. She had been en route to Taiwan, while the unloaded "Best Unity" was coming from Kaoshiung.
