Bulk carrier refloated
The Berge Tateyama', which had run aground on the Paranà River at kilometer 312,5 en route from San Lorenzo on June 15, and was refloated with the assistance of the four tugs 'Brutus', 'Ranquel', 'Svitzar Mora' and 'Argentino I.' on June 20 at 5.30 p.m. On June 21 at 12.30 a.m., ship navigation has been reinstated with a new maximum draft at the grounded area of 9,45 metres. Bulk carrier still stuck
The 'Berge Tateyama', which ran aground in pos. 33 30 59 S,59 52 04 W, about 5.2 nautical miles from Obligado, at river km 312.5 of the Paranà, was attended by the three tugs 'Brutus', 'Argentino I' and 'Svitzer Mora' on June 19. Once the vessel is refloated, the Coastguard will perform soundings in the area before navigation is reopened. The vessel had loaded 40.950 tons soybeans at the Renova Terminal.
Grounding on Paranà River
The 'Berge Tateyama', en route from Cape Town to Las Palmas, ran aground on the Paranà River near kilometer mark 311,5 in pos. 33° 30.99' S 059° 52.04' W on June 15, 2023, at around 6 a.m. UTC, while sailing downstream from San Martin, loaded with 37500 tons of soybeans. The bulk carrier was partially blocking the shipping channel. The tug 'Brutus' (MMSI: 701006670) was on site as of June 16.
