Trawler grounded off Bodø
The "Meløyfjord" ran aground in the Landegode Fjord off Bodø in the morning of Feb 8, 2018. The MRCC was alerted at 8.06 a.m. The ship was stuck with a severe list to port side and had a crew of on board. The anti pollution ship "Skovvær" had in vain tried to refloat the grounded vessel. Three crew members were taken off by the lifeboat "Klaveness Marine" from Bodø at 10.20 a.m. Also the "OV Skomvær" and the "Thor Heyerdahl" of the Norwegian Navy attended the ship and were preparing a towing test. The water level, however, was expected to fall until 12.30 p.m. So far no leakage has been observed while the hull has been checked for holes. By 5.15 p.m. the ship was refloated and being towed to port by the NSSR-lifeboats "Det Norske Veritas" (MMSI: 259193000) and "Klaveness Marine (MMSI: 257928800).
