Engine failure in the North Sea
The "Beautrader", en route from Ipswich to Georgetown, suffered a main engine fault and loss of propulsion in position 51 53 26 N, 001 33 33 E, on Nov 27, 2018, at 12.30 p.m.. The vessel was given the option option of using four tugs. On Nov 28 it was under tow of the tug "MTS Vanquish" (IMO: 9559573). On Nov 30 the Dutch tug "En Avant 30" (IMO: 9597317), which had sailed from Rotterdam on Nov 29 at 10.30 p.m., took over the tow towards Amsterdam. In IJmuiden the transport was assisted by the Port Towage Amsterdam operated tugs "Triton" and "Saturnus". The "Beautrader" was docked at Shipdock in Amsterdam on Nov 30 at 7 p.m. for repairs. She sailed again on Dec 12, bound for Georgetown, ETA Dec 27.
