Allision off Antwerp
On Apr 4, 2017, at 2.20 p.m. the "BBC Sapphire" while turning inside the access channel to the Zandvliet lock allided with the moored tug "Lieven Gevaert". The crew was at that time on board, but was unharmed, their ship was severely damaged. The hull on the starboard side was dented under the water line, and the eninges were shifted so that the ship must almost certainly be repaired in dry dock. German u-boats shipped from Kiel to Columbia to chase smugglers
From Nov 6 to Nov 8, 2015, the two former German submarines "U 23" and "U 24" were loaded onto the "BBC Sapphire" in the Kiel Naval Base. The "Indomable" and "Intrepido" had previously been fitted out at HDW Kiel for Coaastguard service and smuggler chasing off the Columbian coast. The ship left Kiel on Nov 10 and was being expected in Cartagena on Nov 27.
