Stricken trawler towed to Wicklow in gale force winds
The Wicklow RNLI crew rescued four fishermen from the Crew of four of the "Bara An Aod" in the morning of Mar 22, 2013. The volunteer lifeboat crew got the call from the Irish Coastguard at 3.15 a.m. to go to the aid of the trawler, which had suffered engine failure 3 km east of Wicklow Head. There was a strong south-easterly force nine gale with torrential rain and a three to four metre breaking swell at the time. The lifeboat "Annie Blaker" located the trawler at 3.55 a.m. and subsequently towed the stricken vessel safely back to Wicklow Harbour by 5a.m. Reports with photos and video: http://rnli.org/NewsCentre/Pages/Early-morning-call-out-sees-Wicklow-RNLI-rescue-four-fishermen-in-strong-gales.aspx http://www.irishtimes.com/news/wicklow-lifeboat-rescues-four-fishermen-1.1335420
