Oil spill after collision off Singapore, no injuries
SINGAPORE, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Less than 60 metric tons of bunker was spilled following a collision in Singapore waters between a South Korea-registered liquefied petroleum gas carrier and a bulk carrier registered in Hong Kong, China, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore said on Sunday. The bulk carrier Sunny Horizon collided with the liquefied petroleum gas carrier DL Salvia in the afternoon at the Temasek Fairway, about 700 meters east of Sultan Shoal, it said. The Sultan Shoal is near the Jurong Island in southwestern Singapore. The bunker tank on DL Salvia was breached, resulting in the oil spill, which is concentrated within the Temasek Fairway, the Maritime and Port Authority said.
