Repatriation by aircraft
The repatriation of the three stowaways to Guinea-Conakry who were still aboard the 'Harald Maersk' in Vigo will take until Feb 19 or 20, according to police sources. The shipping company and the Border Brigade of the National Police were finalizing the paperwork for the repatriation to Africa. The shipping company will charter a private flight that will transfer the stowaways. Once they get off the ship they will be escorted to the airport. Their identities have been confirmed by their embassy.

The three stowaways who wre on board the "Harald Maersk" would will to disembark at Vigo, ending an issue that has been delayed for a week, when the ship asked permission to dock in the port. They had been discovered when leaving Gibraltar and allegedly had had violent behavior, which later was not confirmed. In any case, they were confined to a cabin. However, the Spanish authorities did not accept the three Africans, apparently from Guinea Conakry, and urged the Maersk shipping company to return them to their country. The Danish company proposed to disembark them in Vigo and take care of the expenses of the transfer of the three young people back to Guinea by air, accompanied by Spanish police. The ship planned to continue heading immediately once the episode ends, but remained stationary as of Feb 16. Tanker diverted to Vigo due to aggressive stowaways
Three stowaways who had managed to sneak aboard the 'Harald Maersk' in Las Palmas, behaved so aggressively towards the crew that the ship had to divert to a port. The product tanker was on its way from Conakry to Amsterdam. The captain of the ship decided to call for assistance from the Spanish authorities and seek a refuge in Vigo on Feb 8, 2020. The Spanish authorities sent Coastguard officers out to the ship, where they seized the three. The 'Harald Maersk' spent the night at anchor off the port of Vigo, which may not be approached by tankers in the dark, and docked in the morning and remained stationary as of Feb 9.
