Defiencies to be repaired in Tuzla
On April 15, 2025, the "Baku Wind" was detained in Mersin with 16 deficiencies, ten of which being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention: 1) Water/Weathertight - Covers (Hatchway, portable,- tarpaulin etc) Cracked 2) Water/Weathertight - Doors Not properly maintained 3) Structural conditions - Bulkhead - corrosion Corroded 4) Structural conditions - Steering gear Not as required 5) Fire safety - Fire detection and alarm system Inoperative 6) Fire safety - Fire fighting equipment and Appliances Not as required 7) Fire safety - Other (Fire safety) Other 8)) Pollution Prevention - Ballast Water Management System Not properly maintained 9) Emergency systems - Emergency lighting, batteries and switches Not properly maintained 10) Life saving Appliances - Lifebuoys incl provision and disposition Not as required The vessel was released again om April 15 and permitted a single voyage to the shipyard area in Tuzla for permanent repairs of the shortcomings with an ETA as of April 25. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063576908591

October 4 2010 - Cargo ship "Sail Queen" which was carrying 2,950 tons of iron from Nemrut Port of western province of Izmir to Russia's Rostov Port ran aground off Sutluce Feneri. The ship has not asked for help, officials said. There is another report – vessel holed bottom, and suffered water ingress, to avoid sinking master grounded Sailqueen on a Turkish coastline.
