Medevac off Ibiza
On June 8, 2023, the 'Bahama Mama' requested the medical evacuation of a crew member, advised by the Radiomedical Center, after he suffered respiratory problems on board the ship, which was en route to Ibiza. The CCS Palma of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the SAR helicopter Helimer 220, which hoisted the patient and took him to the Hospital Son Espases. Migrant on surfboard rescued off Algeciras
Salvamento Marítimo has rescued an immigrant of North African origin on July 30, 2022, when he was trying to reach the Spanish coast by propelling himself with a surfboard in the waters of the Bay of Algeciras in Cádiz. The rescue occurred after the 'Bahama Mama' called the Tarifa MRCC in Cádiz at 9:00 a.m. to warn of the presence of a "man overboard" in the entrance of the Bay of Algeciras.. Slavamento Marítimo mobilized the SAR boat 'Salvamar Denébola' which located an man on board a surfboard, with a neoprene suit and fins, with which he had managed to cross the Strait. He has been transferred to the port of Algeciras in apparent good health.
Allision in Malaga
On Nov 2, 2020, at 1.30 p.m., the 'Bahama Mama', enroute from Melilla, allided with the edge of the pier 3-A3 upon entering the port of Malaga during the docking manoever. The ship suffered a breach in the starboard side stern of three meters height next to one of its ramps. The ferry moored at dock number four at 5.30 p.m. for inspections and repairs. She has been replaced by the ferry 'Martín i Soler' (IMO: 9390367) on the route since. She arrived from the port of Almería to take over the passage and cargo bound to Melilla. The 'Bahama Mama' took over the Alboran Sea route on Oct 25, replacing the 'Martín i Soler' , which in turn was replacing the 'Napoles', the main ship on this line since September 2019.
