Tanker auctioned and renamed
The 'Brightoil Galaxy' has been sold on Oct 21 by order of the High Court of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Court of First Instance, in an action in rem against the vessel in action HCAJ 13 of 2019. The gross proceeds of sale of HKD 479,153,359.80 for the ship and USD 298,792.10 for bunkers, have been paid into court. The order of priority of the claims against the said proceeds will not be determined until after the expiration of the period of 30 days from, and including Oct 21, 2019; and any person with a claim against the ship or the proceeds of sale thereof, on which he intends to proceed to judgment should do so before the expiration of that period. The ship has since been renamed 'Azure Nova'.
Tanker to be auctioned
Brightoil's tankers were headning for an auction block on order of the Hongkong Court. The Singaoren counterparts prepared the auction of the fleet of the troubled fuel trader including the "Brightoil Galaxy", "Brightoil League" and "Brightoil Lucky", anchored in Hong Kong waters.
